THE FARM
Handcrafted rabbit family guarding the driveway
At Samen Eco Gardens, every animal plays a vital role in our garden and farm ecosystem.
Our chickens and ducks enjoy a safe, calm, and free-range life, with ample outdoor space and cozy dry dens year-round. They receive a balanced diet of grains and fresh greens and regularly forage freely in our gardens. Dedicated attention and experienced care provide a healthy flock.
With chicken breeds such as Araucana, Plymouth Rock, Warren, Sussex, Rhode Island, Leghorn, Wyandotte, Minis, and Silkies, our daily egg basket is as delicious as it is colorful - from white and beige to brown, blue, and green-grey.
We also care for rabbits, feeding them fresh greens, hay, carrots, apples and some grains, with generous bedding of dry straw. Our California White rabbits are gentle, calm, and striking with their white fur and black ears and paws.
Bees are essential pollinators in our gardens. Our hives, placed on the green roof of our garden cottage amidst fruit trees and flowering plants, produce multi-floral honey up to twice a year.
Composting worms are another key part of our ecosystem. For over 20 years, they've helped us create a nutrient-rich vermicompost that strengthens our soil and supports the growth of our plants and trees.
Essential microorganisms are equally important for the health of our gardens. We grown them using our organic sugar cane and use them to combat pests and nurture our soil naturally.
Charming their way into our hearts are cats, a family dog, turtles, singing birds, hedgehogs, butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs, fish and countless other small animals and beneficial insects.
Every creature contributes to the harmony and vitality of our garden.
